WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS OR HAVE A GAS LEAK
Is there a smell of gas in or near your property? Do you think you may have a local gas leak?
Follow these safety steps:
DON'T SMOKE (INCLUDING ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES)
DON'T LIGHT ANY MATCHES OR USE CIGARETTE/BBQ LIGHTERS
DON'T OPERATE ANY LIGHT SWITCHES OR ELECTRICAL ITEMS
IMMEDIATELY EXTINGUISH NAKED FLAMES SUCH AS CANDLES
OPEN AS MANY DOORS AND WINDOWS AS POSSIBLE
TURN OFF YOUR GAS SUPPLY DIRECTLY AT THE METER
After you’ve followed the above, call the National Gas Service Emergency Line on 0800 111 999 and report that you have a suspected gas leak.
They’ll sort out the problem and tell you what to do to stay safe.

Is your gas supply being interrupted?
If your gas appliances aren’t working then it’s most likely caused by a problem with the gas supply. Our trained gas engineers can locate the cause of a gas problem if it falls within your property.
If the problem lies beyond your property then it may be a fault with your Gas service provider. In this case, phone the National Gas Service Emergency Line on 0800 111 999 and inform them of the issue.
